It's a Beautiful Thing to be Nothing More Than You Today

You had free time this Sunday, so we decided to have a date at the shop.

I stopped at the cafe up the street that Chuck painted and grabbed us a couple of those delicious iced pink pomegranate teas that I know you’ll love.

You walk inside, and when we see each other, the air immediately feels lighter. All you can say when you see it all is that “she would love this,” and we both know who that is.

My eyes well a bit as you look around, and we both chat about how different things look, yet it feels just the same in here.

We don’t do anything fancy this morning. The floor is the only table available so we sit on quilts and organize some boxes of fabric, and then a box of little miniatures. “I have never seen that before” is something I must have said 10x as we work.

We chat about how this year feels, and both feel the weight of it all. I remind you when your throat catches that you’re doing great. You got out of bed today and that’s already enough. You came to visit me and make my day better by being you.

It’s a beautiful thing to be nothing more than you today.

We hug, and I remind you that what you get back home, you are allowed to rest when you need to. You are allowed to try new things when you can, not knowing what the outcome will be.

I’m right there with ya doing the same, I’m always around and thinking of you.

Thank you for your visit. It always feels better after we hang out.
